All thanks to the enormous improvements made to Smartphone cameras, mobile photo editing has become more popular than ever. A ton of apps available in the Google play store, which can help you scan your old photos. The PhotoScan android app is one of them. Here is the Photoscan android app review that can just help you in the best way possible.
Photoscan launched by Google is one of the finest photo scanning apps. It is available for both android and iPhone. If you are an android user you at least need Android 5.0, aka Lollipop. So how do you scan the picture? All you have to do is tap the shutter button and the picture will be clicked. After clicking, four dots will immediately appear and then you have to drag your phone to those four corners. Once you have covered all the four points, the app will present you the edited image. The entire process would be completed in 15 to 30 seconds.
Suppose you’re in a pitch dark situation and you have this sudden urge of scanning an old picture. You needn’t worry, Google Photoscan lets you use flash. If you opt for the flash option, the flashlight turns on while you scan the picture. To use the flash option, there is an option on the lower left corner. If the flash symbol is yellow in color, it means that flash option is on. To not use the flash option, just click on the flash option and it would turn in white color.
Adjust corners after clicking
Though Photoscan is intelligent enough to handle your photos. But sometimes it adjusts corners incorrectly. If you want to adjust corners again after clicking the image, you can do it with Photoscan. For this, you have to click on the saved images. You’ll be taken to a screen where you scanned images will show up. Choose the image you want to adjust corners and tap adjust corners. All you need to do is drag the corners to the correct places. After dragging all the corners tap on done. And then your photo will be edited automatically.
You can rotate the photo it in the anticlockwise direction. This feature is a must-have feature in any image taking app. This gives us freedom to rotate our images if they are scanned incorrectly. The rotate option is available as the lower first option.
Using this option, you can adjust the corners of the edited photo. This option is available as the lower second option. All you’ve to do is drag the corners of the frame and adjust it to the size of your choice.
Things I like
The app is pretty much upto the mark and is pretty satisfactory. The best part about this app is that you can scan any picture in a fraction of a minute. You can even get the picture in the size of your choice. Moreover, you can eliminate glares from your old photographs. Isn’t that pretty cool?
Things I don’t like
One thing about the app is that the picture doesn’t save to the main gallery immediately. You’ll have to manually, select the option of saving it to the main gallery. For the beginners, dealing with those 4 dots can be pretty much of a difficult task. You need to use the app for quite a few times to be able to deal with the dots properly.
Google Photoscan is a quite useful app. By just using this app you can capture a high-quality version of the physical photo. Surprisingly, the app clicks good images; regardless of the original orientation (you can actually ignore the negatives of this app cause of this). It’s a fast and easy way to protect our cherished memories and make physical photos editable and shareable. I look forward to putting the app through its paces.
