Freecharge is a little bit underrated mobile wallet. When people compare it with other mobile wallets like Paytm, they always keep it on the lower side. I don’t know why they do it but it is truly misleading. Freecharge has too many of those features which are not yet introduced in Paytm. Here I am going to tell you top 10 reasons why freecharge is better than Paytm.
Top 10 Reasons why Freecharge is better than Paytm:
1. Clean User Interface
The moment I opened the Freecharge mobile wallet, I became a fan of the Freecharge’s user interface. It is no doubt cleaner than Paytm’s messy UI. The icons for all Freecharge services are listed on its home screen. Unlike Paytm, you do not need to scroll or swipe to find more payment options.
2. Faster than Paytm
The speed of the Freecharge is the second reason why Freecharge is better than Paytm. It takes no time to launch as well as to complete transactions. It also does not want you to take too many steps for making payments. You can enjoy almost all of its services in two or three clicks from the home screen. It even performs well with low network connectivity. Freecharge is probably the fastest mobile wallet in my opinion.
3. Virtual Card
Yes, you heard it right. Freecharge has the unique and exclusive feature for creating a virtual card. For this Freecharge has tied with MasterCard. It allows us to create a Freecharge Go MasterCard within the app. This card can be used just like a regular physical card for online payments. The card uses your Freecharge wallet balance to make payments. It is secured by an MPIN which you set while applying for the virtual card.
4. Send Money to contacts
Another good reason why Freecharge is better than Paytm is sending money to phones contacts. Don’t know why the big player like Paytm does not have this option. This option is a must have in any mobile wallet in my thoughts. This makes recharging or sending money easier. In Freecharge, you can send or request money to your phonebook contacts.
5. Chat and pay
You can not only send money to contacts but also can chat with them. Freecharge has a built-in chat option to chat before sending money to any of your contacts. This option comes handy when you want to ask for money from anyone. Suppose any of your friends has sent a payment request to you. But, you don’t know what this payment is about. Just go chat and pay and ask your friend. And make payment only when you are fully satisfied.
6. Pay, Request or recharge from WhatsApp
Pay, request or recharge from WhatsApp? Yes, it is true. Freecharge has an option to make payments to WhatsApp contacts directly from WhatsApp itself. You need to turn on the accessibility option for Freecharge. And after that just type the amount followed by FC inside any WhatsApp chat. Touch the Freecharge bubble and choose between services.

7. Auto Pay feature
How many times it happens that you forget to pay your bills on time. Even you often forget to renew your phone’s tariff plans or any validity bound recharge. Freecharge has made this easy for you. Just activate the auto pay and Freecharge will pay your utility bills and recharge your phone automatically. These payments are done using your Freecharge wallet balance. Hence you need to maintain balance in your wallet to complete the payments. It will also notify you before the due date if you do not have sufficient balance.
8. Send donations
Want to help some poor helpless people? You can donate money to some NGOs and missions using Freecharge. Though these are a few but we expect Freecharge will add more in future. Currently, you can use Freecharge to donate money to nine foundations. These includes The Akshaya Patra Foundation, World Vision India, Dargah Nizamuddin Aulia, Magic Bus India Foundation etc.
9. Split Bills
You can also split your bills between you and your contacts. Suppose you live in a joint room with a friend. And you have to pay the rent of the room using Freecharge. All you need to do is split the bill between you and your friend. Your friend will receive a notification. And can easily pay his share of the rent. This option comes handy in many situations such as watching a movie, riding a shared taxi and many others.
10. Dedicated mobile wallet
I have put this reason in the last place but it deserves the top spot. This is the main reason why Freecharge is better than Paytm as a mobile wallet. Freecharge is the dedicated mobile app. It has almost all the options to make payments. You can use Freecharge to pay for anything anywhere. What Freecharge does not have is unnecessary clutter. On the other hand, Paytm is not only a mobile wallet but also a shopping platform. Though it makes Paytm a better app but not a better mobile wallet.
Now, it is your turn. Tell us some more reasons why Freecharge is better than Paytm in comments. Also, tell us which wallet you use and why?
