Clicking photos with an Android smartphone has become common. We all have smartphones which have pretty good camera sensors. They are capable of clicking nice photos if used properly. Photography is not an easy task. You should keep in mind some tips and tricks when clicking photos with your Android smartphone. Here are some tips to click best photos with the camera of your Android smartphone.
1. Use a better camera app
Every Android smartphone comes with a preinstalled camera app. It can click nice and clear photos most of the times. However, some of them are too basic in terms of features. Therefore, it cannot be advised to stick with your preinstalled camera app. There are many other feature-rich camera apps available in the Play Store. You can easily choose one of them according to your needs. Choose the camera app which has manual controls and some professional features. 2. Clean your camera lens
It is almost impossible to click best photos with a dirty lens. One of the first things you need to do while clicking a photo is cleaning your camera lens. Use a microfiber cloth to clean the lens. You can also use your pure cotton shirt if you do not have microfiber cloth. Don’t ever try to clean the lens with a rough cloth as it will damage your camera lens permanently.
3. Say no to zoom
‘Zoom’ is the most overrated feature in any smartphone camera. It does not work like other digital cameras or DSLRs. The camera on your smartphones has digital zoom, means it zooms your photo digitally. Digital zooming feature does not really zoom but spreads and crops your photo. It results in a significant quality loss. Instead of zooming, you should always try to get closer to your object to click best photos. If it is not possible, click the photo without zoom and then crop it using any photo editor as per your needs. It will make your photos look more beautiful.
4. Do not use flash
Although flash is a very nice and handy feature to have on your smartphone and becomes useful when it’s dark outside, I suggest you to not use it. Rather find a natural light source. You can also use artificial light sources. Even a small tube light works better than flash. Flash makes photos look unnatural and sometimes washed. Photos clicked without flash are almost always better than photos clicked with flash. If you are clicking a photo in a room or a darker place, try to place your object facing a window, door or any other big or small light source. Make sure the light source is behind your camera and in front of your desired object. In this way, you can click best photos which have natural and sharp looks.
5. Choose shooting mode smartly
Your smartphone camera has various shooting modes such as night mode, portrait mode, sports mode and many others depending on your camera app. Use them smartly according to the object and situation to click best photos. For instance, use night mode in low-light conditions and use sports mode to click photos of moving object. If it seems a bit difficult to you, use auto mode. Auto mode selects a mode as per the lighting condition and object’s state. It will work just fine for you.
6. Apply the Rule of Thirds
You should apply the Rule of Thirds to click best photos. Try to have your object a little bit off center in your viewfinder. Turn on grid lines from your settings and it will make taking a perfect shot easier. Try to place your object in any corner of the central box. Make sure the background does not look a bit more focused or eye-catching than your object. Photos with a slightly blurry or off focused background and a sharp and focused object always look better.
7. Click more than one photo
If you want to click best photos, always click more than one photo of your object. You can use burst mode if your camera app has. No matter how perfect or experience photographer you are, clicking only one photo of a moment is always a risk. Moments do not come back, and if your clicked photo is blurry or washed, you won’t be able to keep that moment alive. Hence, try to click many photos and after clicking, choose the best shot among them. Don’t forget to delete remaining photos as they take a significant amount of your storage capacity.
8. Edit your photos after clicking
No matter how good photos you clicked, there is always some editing possibilities. Your photos will look awesome after some tweaking. Download a good photo editor app from Google Play Store and edit your photos.
