So, is it the best app locker for Android? Let’s find out.
Applock – Fingerprint by SpSoft
Applock – Fingerprint is developed by SpSoft. The app has 4.4 stars rating on the play store. The app is available for free in Google Play Store. But if want a premium ad-free version, then you will have to pay ₹290.00. But even if you use the free version, you will not feel much difference. Because the number of ads in the app is very less. Hence, I would suggest you go for free version first. If you seriously like it and want to get rid of ads, only then purchase the premium version.
The user interface of the app is sleek and minimal. Unlike most of the app lockers, the app is clean and pretty simple to use. When you first launch the app, it asks to lock some recommended apps and set the password. After setting the password, you will reach to its home screen.
The app’s home screen is divided into four tabs. You can easily access any tab by swiping left or right. The first tab you get is for locking any app on your phone. Here you will get a big green button with a + icon. You need to tap this button and select the apps that you want to protect. The second tab is for locking the screen backlight and third is for locking screen rotation. And the fourth tab contains the app settings.

Applock – Fingerprint has almost every necessary feature for locking apps. And at the same time, it omitted some optional features such as gallery locking. It could have been more useful if these were present. Most of the other applocks like AppLock by DoMobile Lab and CM AppLock have these features. I have somewhat disappointed with this decision of the developer.
However, if you consider essential applock features, then this app is in the top row. Or I can even say that it beats most of the apps with its features like screen and rotation lock features.
Below are some of its most important features:
Lock Apps with PIN, Password, Pattern or Gesture
I have tested many applocks when I was researching for my post on 10 best app lockers for Android. And most of them have only PIN/password and pattern unlocking method. But, Applock – Fingerprint has four unlocking methods to choose. These include PIN, password, pattern and gesture method. Having that many options makes it a great app locker for Android.
Setting the unlocking method is also easy on this app. You can set your preferred method while you launch the app first time. Also, you can change the lock method anytime from app settings.

Now, here is the great news for those who use an Android device having a fingerprint sensor. Yes, you guessed it right. It supports fingerprint unlocking along with any of the other methods. I have enabled it on my phone and pretty amazed with its performance. It unlocks any app instantly.
You can turn on fingerprint unlocking from the lock method settings. One this you should note that fingerprint works only with another method. Hence, you must set a secure method along with fingerprint for better security.
Screen Lock and Rotation Lock
Most of us prefer to set a screen off time for 30 seconds to 1 minutes to save battery. But sometimes, we need more screen off time in some specific apps. For example, when we read a blog or a pdf book on our Android, we need more time. And Applock – Fingerprint does this job perfectly. It gives you the option to select specific apps in which you want the screen to be always on.
The app also has one more unique option where you can lock rotation for individual apps. And setting up both these features is as easy as it could be. Just swipe the screen to go to the dedicated tab. And there, tap the big ‘+’ button to select the apps and you are done. In rotation lock tab, you can set the screen to auto rotate or fixed to vertical mode.
System Toggles Lock Support
Apart from above-stated features, Applock – Fingerprint can also lock system toggles. The app supports almost every important system toggle including Wi-Fi, mobile data and Bluetooth. Along with these, it includes USB connection, app info page and even recent apps.
Moreover, you can also lock your incoming and outgoing calls using this app. This is also a great feature to prevent others from making or receiving calls. Also, if enabled, it can automatically lock new apps that you install on your Android.
Customizable Lock Screen
This is one my favorite features of Applock – Fingerprint. If default lock screen of the app seems boring or dull to you. Then you customize it with ease and give it your favorite look. The app also has some predesigned themes which you can enable with one tap. But if you want to customize more freely, you can do it also.
This app allows you to change almost everything on lock screen including background, app info and even password box. Also, you can customize brightness, hint and the scale of back etc. All you need to do is go to the settings and tap Lock Screen Settings option.

Perhaps, this is one of the most necessary features of any best App locker for Android. This helps in keeping an eye on who is trying to bypass your security. And it keeps eyes silently so that the intruder couldn’t even know he/she is being trapped. The app takes a photo of the intruders silently when they fail to unlock after a certain number of attempts. It even records videos of the intruder wit audio if enabled.
Moreover, you can also set it to auto send the pictures to your email address instantly. So that you can know the person even without going to your device. You can enable this feature from the settings.
Speed & Accuracy
Now, here comes the main part. You definitely want to improve performance of Android phone to make it super fast. For this, you always try to install the apps that are fast and lightweight. Hence, you may have concerns about the speed of Applock – Fingerprint too. But don’t worry. As far as the speed is a concern, this app is undoubtedly one of the best app lockers for Android.
I can even say that the speed and accuracy are the USPs of the app. However, with some heavy apps like Facebook, it delays presenting the lock screen. But, this is probably the flaw of the locked app, not the Applock – Fingerprint. If you are using fingerprint, you just need to put your finger one time. And it will unlock the app instantly.
Even, if you use other modes such as PIN, pattern or gesture, it unlocks the app spontaneously. It is perhaps the fastest app locker for Android thanks to its being lightweight.

The Verdict: The Best App Locker for Android?
Applock – Fingerprint does have all the essential features. But, there are too tough competitors to beat and become the best app locker for Android. One of the main competitors is AppLock by DoMobile Lab and some others are Perfect AppLock, CM AppLock etc. Although these are also great app lockers, Applock – Fingerprint beats most of them in overall performance. For example, Perfect Applock does not have fingerprint support but Applock – Fingerprint has. And CM AppLok contains a lot more of ads than Applock – Fingerprint.
The only thing that pulls it behind is the lack of images and videos lock support. However, SpSoft has another app for this. But if it includes the feature in the Applock – Fingerprint, then it would be better. There are also some performance related issues such as slow launch. Hence, you can say that this app is indeed one the best app lockers for Android. It could be the best if the developers make some more improvement.
